How many photos are needed for my Photo Dedication DVD?
The amount of photos needed for your Photo Dedication DVD depends on the legnth of the song(s) that you select. For optimal results, your Photo Dedication should move at a smooth and steady pace without moving too slow or too fast. We suggest that each photo linger on the screen for about 7 seconds. To calculate the number of photos needed simply divide the song length by 7. For example, if the song you select is 3 minutes and 30 seconds long you would break down the total song length into seconds and divide by 7.
3 minutes + 30 seconds = 210 seconds
Divide the 210 seconds by 7 = 30
You would need a total of 30 photos to fulfill the length of your song.

I would like to have a movie made, but am concerned about the legality of having popular music on it. Can you tell me more about music copyright laws?
Photo Dedications fully respects and complies with music copyright laws. We take every precaution to protect you and ourselves from copyright infringement by purchasing every song that is featured on your DVD legally through iTunes on your behalf for your own personal use (iTunes is the most reputable source of popular music on the net). To comply with copyright laws you must own every song featured on your photo dedication DVD, that's why we charge you .99 cents for every song. We take your .99 cents and pay iTunes directly for your music. (Photo Dedications does not profit from music purchased through iTunes.) So now that you have paid for your music you own it and are well within your legal rights to use the music in your Photo Dedication DVD without legal complications. Once your Photo Dedication DVD has been shipped you will receive a receipt from Photo Dedications that will contain the actual order numbers from iTunes for each individual song purchased, so if any questions arise as far as music ownership goes you will have proof on paper that you have paid Photo Dedications to legally purchase music though iTunes on your behalf for the songs featured on your Photo Dedication DVD. Once your Photo Dedication DVD is complete Photo Dedications will delete the music files from our system that we purchased from iTunes on your behalf to assure that no one (including photodedications.com) can use the music that you have paid for for any other purpose. If you wish to order additionsl copies of your Photo Dedication DVD you will be required to pay an additional .99 cents for every song featured on each copy as well.
Which type of photo format should I use, landscape or portrait?
Landscape photos are more wide than tall and work best because they fill the entire screen. Portrait photos are more tall than wide and also work well, but in order to accomodate them on the TV screen you will often see some blank space on either side of the photo.
Can you restore my old photos?
The clarity of your Photo Dedication depends on the quality of your photos. Please select clear, high quality photos for your dedication. Try to avoid out of focus, blurry, grainy or old cracked photos as this will take away from the beauty of your dedication. Unfortunately, we cannot restore old photos. If you have an old photo that you love please take it to a professional to be restored and then submit your photo to us to include in a Photo Dedication.
Is there a size limit on the photos I can use?
We can scan photos up to and including size 8 x 10.
Can I use 35mm negatives or slides for my dedication?
Yes. You may use old-fasioned paper photos, digital photos, 35mm film negatives and slides.
I'm not sure which songs to use in my Photo Dedication, do you have any suggestions?
Decide which song best suits the mood that you wish your dedication to convey. Selecting the perfect song(s) is a personal decision that is clearly your choice. If you find that you are having difficulty deciding on a song that captures that certain emotion, please refer to our MUSIC SELECTION page for our song suggestions. To ensure that any music featured in a Photo Dedication DVD is legally obtained, all music will be purchased by Photo Dedications.com on your behalf for your own personal use from iTunes to comply with copyright laws. Unfortunately, we cannot accept any music CD's to acquire music for your Photo Dedication DVD.
Do I need to sign up for a Rhapsody account to play music on the music suggestions page?
No. You may listen up to 25 of the songs in their entirety for free courtesy of Rhapsody.com. (Rhapsody is completely legal, you can only listen not download.) If you currently do not have any Rhapsody software downloaded to your computer you will be prompted to install the Rhapsody player engine to listen to our song suggestions. The Rhapsody player engine will enable you to play and listen up to 25 of our song suggestions for free in your web browser. The Rhapsody player uses a pop-up in order to function so please allow pop-ups from Rhapsody.com. Occasionally Rhapsody upgrades their system and some songs may not play, this is only temporary so please try to play the music again at a later time.
What is a video effect?
A video effect is the most important part of your dedication. Video effects bring your Photo Dedication to life with subtle fades and transitions. We feature over 30 unique video effects that are perfect for almost any occasion! Please be sure to note which video effect(s) you prefer, you will need this information when ordering your dedication package. Do I have to put my photos in order?
Yes. Decide which order that you would like for your photos to appear and carefully number the backside of each photo starting with 1, 2, 3 etc. (If you decide to use a pen to number your photos, please be careful not to press too hard or you may damage your photo.) If you decide to send a photo CD or email your photos please place the photos in a numerical sequence starting with 1, 2, 3 etc.
When I send my orginal photos, do you guarantee their safety?
We take every precaution to keep your photos safe while they are in our possession. However, under no circumstances shall Photo Dedications.com be liable for any damages, including but not limited to any direct, indirect, incidental or consequential damages to customers photos (film or digital), slides, videos and other materials including, but not limited to as a result of theft, fire, flood, natural disaster, war, or terrorism. For that reason, we suggest that you consider providing us with a duplicate copy of the photos rather than the original. It is your responsibility to insure the contents of your package, place them in waterproof packaging and to write the words "DO NOT BEND" clearly on the outside of the package. At the very least make sure you protect your precious photos with the proper packing materials. In addition, it is recommended that you ship your package to us using a reliable and reputable shipping service. We will do the same when sending the final product back to you. With all that said, we have never had any problems with damaged original photos or orders when reasonable care is used in packaging and shipping.
When will I receive my Photo Dedication?
You will receive your Photo Dedication DVD within 1 to 2 weeks from the time of your confirmed order and payment. (Due to the time constraint, a tribute Photo Dedication DVD that is to be shown at a funeral will be rushed at no extra charge and should be ready in 3 to 4 days.)
Will I be able to preview my dedication before it's shipped?
Yes. We want all of our customers to be extremely pleased with their Photo Dedications. You will be able to preview your dedication online before we finalize and ship your Photo Dedication DVD. If you'd like to make some MINOR changes before we ship your DVD we would be more than pleased to assist you.
Will my dedication DVD be compatible with my DVD player?
On average, over 90% of all home DVD players will play back your dedication DVD. We use professional grade DVD+R's for all of our Photo Dedications. We test every DVD before it is shipped for quality assurance. If your DVD does not play, please try using a different DVD player. If the DVD still does not play in another player the disc may be faulty. In this extremely rare scenario you would send the disc back to us for testing and if it's proven faulty will will replace the disc at no charge. Please be sure to check your DVD player manual/manufacturer to determine if it supports DVD+R. Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns or cancel orders after they have been processed and refunds will not be issued for incompatibility reasons.
May I order additional copies of my Photo Dedication?
Yes. You may order additional copies after your initial order is placed.

You may re-order additional copies for up to 1 year after your original dedication creation date for $24.95 plus $1.00 additional for every song that is featured on the DVD. (Remember, you must own each song for your own personal use to comply with copyright laws.) This will include the original personalized dedication DVD and case with FREE shipping & handling. When ordering please supply us with the original dedication order number or the name of the person who owns a copy of the Photo Dedication DVD that you wish to order.
